Hockey Nationals

Last week Brian and I flew to Detroit, Michigan with the Affton Midget Minor Team for the National Tournament. We were one of only 12 teams to compete at this tournament. The boys had a tough start but managed to qualify for Saturday's Elite 8 games. However they lost to the North Dakota Starz in the quarter finals. These boys played great hockey all week and despite the disappointment of not winning Nationals they still had a tremendous season. Brian and I had a lot of fun with the team in Michigan. Besides the hockey we were able to hang out with coaches and parents. I also got to see some of my Toledo buddies. Some of them drove up and had dinner with me, it was great to see old friends. All in all it was a great week. Check out some of the pictures from our trip below.

Hi kids welcome home. Sorry you lost the tourn., but congratulations Brian on the awesome season. We are very proud of you for the the way you handle yourself both on and off of the ice. I'm sure it was disappointing to lose. But it will take a much better coach to help teach these boys at this young age how hard it is to lose something you want and that they knew you wanted so very badly and come back stronger from it. It still was a good season. Now just look forward to to next year and go from there. We are still proud of you win or lose. We are looking forward to seeing both of in about 10 days when we fly out for our short trip. Have a happy Easter. I love you both. Love Mom.
